Established in 1978, the Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT) stands as a testament to China’s focus on specialized education. Originally known as Beijing Petrochemical College, BIPT evolved from the Second Branch of the Beijing Chemical Engineering College. This Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology has seen significant transformations over the years. In 1985, it came under the management of China Petrochemical Corporation. Later, in 2000, management shifted to the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. This transition marked a pivotal moment, solidifying the Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology’s role as a key institution in the capital’s educational landscape. Today, BIPT is located in Daxing New District. It boasts three campuses: Qingyuan, Kangzhuang, and Yanshan. These campuses collectively cover 466 acres, housing over 214,000 square meters of building space. The Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology’s facilities include a library with a vast collection of resources. This includes 820,000 physical books and 1.21 million electronic books. BIPT offers 29 undergraduate majors spanning various disciplines, including engineering, science, management, economics, and literature. The university is also authorized to award professional master’s degrees in chemical engineering and mechanical engineering. BIPT is dedicated to fostering international collaboration. It maintains partnerships with over 30 universities and research institutions worldwide. These collaborations facilitate student and faculty exchanges, enriching the academic environment.
