Ever wondered where peace and quiet meet nature’s embrace? That’s Beachmere Conservation Park. It’s a relaxing destination perfect for nature lovers. Today, we’ll explore its history. We’ll also discover why it’s so important to southeast Queensland.

Originally named H E Corbould Park, it honored Harold Edward Corbould. He was a philanthropist and pastoralist. Corbould lived in Bunya from 1966 until his death in 1989. He amassed significant land holdings during his life. He donated 20 hectares to the Queensland Government for conservation. This remains the most significant individual contribution to southeast Queensland. Besides land, he donated to charities and the Salvation Army.

In December 1994, H E Corbould Park officially became Beachmere Conservation Park. Moreton Bay Regional Council became its trustee. Today, the park protects five regional ecosystems. The eastern side has a Habitat Protection Zone. Almost a thousand species of flora and fauna thrive. This is all thanks to ongoing conservation efforts.

Vehicles, motorbikes, and trail bikes aren’t allowed. This ensures tranquility. Explore the paved walking tracks without getting lost. You can appreciate the park’s natural conditions. Remember to take your rubbish with you to preserve its beauty.

At low tide, a sandy track guides you to the beach. It’s said that hundreds of soldier crabs scuttle about. It is really an incredible experience.

Beachmere Conservation Park offers a tranquil escape. It’s a tribute to Harold Edward Corbould’s generosity. His contribution protects vital ecosystems. Next time you’re in Beachmere, immerse yourself in its beauty. Remember to respect its delicate balance.
