“Look at that swing, Papa! Can we go there?”. A child’s laughter echoes as we stand before the Baloiço de Quintarei. This isn’t just any swing. It’s a gateway to breathtaking views and Instagram-worthy moments. The Baloiço de Quintarei is part of the Contemplation Circuit of Valongo. This 30-kilometer trail opened in July and takes you past stunning viewpoints, three unique swings, and even Roman thrones. Imagine reaching the peak at 400 meters above sea level. You catch your breath as you take in the panoramic vista. From here, you can see Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, and Maia. On a clear day, you can even spot the Serra do Marão. Now, back to our swing. The Baloiço de Quintarei sits at the Marco Geodésico. It’s one of three special swings along the route, each with its own charm. As you soar through the air, feel the wind in your hair and the thrill of the moment. This is what the Contemplation Circuit is all about. It’s about connecting with nature, enjoying breathtaking views, and creating unforgettable memories.
