Tiago’s journey began with a trip to Canada in 2013. After two years he returned home. He felt uninspired by traditional bakeries. He wanted to bring new ideas to life. Tiago started baking at home for his friends. His Christmas gift in 2015 was his delicious cakes. They loved it.
Word spread. He shared photos on social media. Soon his home kitchen could not handle the demand. That is when he decided to open a shop. Bolos do Folheta officially opened in late 2016. It has been growing steadily ever since.
Why the name “Bolos do Folheta?” It is a funny story. Tiago’s friends jokingly called him “folheta” because he was skinny. He wondered if it would be a good name for his bakery. It stuck. People now know him by that name.

The Beiriz shop has a different concept. It maintains the same essence. Tiago plans to open a new shop every five years. He also wants to expand to other cities. He aims to delegate tasks. He wants to build strong teams. He hopes to have an operations director to help with control.
