Bach Ma National Park

Shrouded in mist, the peaks of Bach Ma National Park have witnessed a fascinating interplay of nature and human history. Bach Ma National Park, meaning “White Horse,” owes its name to the legend of three fairies and their steeds. They descended from the heavens, their white horses enchanted by the lush landscape. Over the following years, 139 villas and hotels sprung up, earning it the title of the “Dalat of central Vietnam.” A post office, market, and even a hospital catered to the French elite who sought respite from the lowland heat. The Viet Minh, however, challenged this idyllic escape, and fierce battles marked the early 1950s. After independence, Bach Ma faded into obscurity.
