A gentle Saigon breeze whispers secrets. Welcome to Bach Dang Wharf Park. Right here on the banks of the Saigon River lies a place steeped in history. It wasn’t always a park. Once a swamp. Then a bustling port. Bach Dang Wharf Park has witnessed centuries of change.

In the 17th century Lord Nguyen Anh established the Ba Son shipyard here. This affirmed Bach Dang’s strategic importance. The French colonialists later transformed it into Quai de Belgique. Then they renamed it Quai d’Argonne. Bach Dang Wharf Park became a key location in Vietnamese history.

It played a crucial role in the Cochinchina Uprising of 1940. Anti-American protests took place here in 1968. The resounding Saigon Liberation in 1975 marked another pivotal moment. After 1975 it became Bach Dang Wharf Park. Many renovations followed.

Today the park spans 18600 square meters. It is divided into two areas. The area from wharf two to the Thu Ngu flagpole is especially impressive. It boasts a lotus flower-inspired design. Gray stone walkways wind through green grass. Elegant light poles illuminate the park at night. The scene is breathtaking.

The park’s renovation is complete. It is now a popular spot. People gather here to relax read books exercise and enjoy the river views. It is also a favorite place for romantic dates. From the park you can easily take a boat tour on the Saigon River. The Waterbus offers another wonderful option for river travel. Bach Dang Wharf Park truly offers something for everyone. It is a vibrant modern space. It is also a place to reflect on Vietnam’s rich past. Enjoy your time here in this beautiful park.
