Considering a center that embodies faith, community, and education? That’s exactly what the Bab-Ul-Ilm Islamic Center is. This Shia Islamic Center located in the Los Angeles area has served Southern California since its establishment in 1997. It has been at its current location since December 2000.
Bab-Ul-Ilm was founded by Hujjatul Islam Syed Fazil Mosavi. He remains the Alim and leader of the center. His guidance has shaped Bab-Ul-Ilm into a vital hub for the Shia community. The center thrives on donations from its members. It is registered as a 501(c) organization in California. This allows it to operate as a non-profit.
Inside Bab-Ul-Ilm, you will find more than just a place of worship. It houses two main halls for both men and women. There are also numerous classrooms. These rooms host Islamic education for kids and adults. This education aligns with Jaffari thoughts. Bab-Ul-Ilm stands as the first institute in Southern California considered Waqfi.
The center also features a substantial Islamic library. It is open to everyone. People can explore a wealth of knowledge within its walls. The main hall houses a Shabee-e-zari Imam Hussain. People visit this regularly. Ziarat is open every Thursday after Maghrib.
Bab-Ul-Ilm commemorates significant events in Fiq-e-Jafaria. Special programs mark these occasions. These events supplement regular weekly programs.
Imam Ali said that intellect and lust oppose each other. Knowledge supports the intellect. Lust is supported by passions. Self is a battlefield. Intellect and lust wage war there. Whoever wins controls themselves.
Prophet Muhammad said that when charity is given it says five things. Firstly, I was perishing and you gave me life. Secondly, I was insignificant and you made me great. Thirdly, I was an enemy and you turned me into a friend. Fourthly, you used to protect me and now I will protect you up to the day of resurrection.
Bab-Ul-Ilm exemplifies community support and religious devotion. It provides a space for spiritual growth, education, and unity.
