The three campuses have 30 libraries. This includes general libraries in Braga and Guimarães. They hold about 300,000 books. There is a Classic Library. It holds over 300,000 books from 1450 to 1900. Specialized libraries hold over 100,000 books. Digital access is available to 17,000 scientific journals. Three sports halls are available for students. Three canteens serve 4,000 meals per hour. There are also snack bars, grills, restaurants, and cafeterias.

Halls of residence provide many beds. Braga has 847 beds. Guimarães offers 542. All spaces support academic success and well-being. They include Wi-Fi and dining rooms. Students can also use study areas and laundry facilities.

The University ensures timely payment of scholarships. Scholarship holders get priority for housing. Student associations organize cultural and sports activities. Musical ensembles and theater groups are popular. The Student’s Union organizes events. These include Freshman Welcome Week. The Enterro da Gata week is a tradition since 1889. It symbolizes school failure. Students also have access to medical and psychological support. They can participate in over 50 sports.

The School of Architecture, Art and Design is in Azurém Campus. Fernando Távora and João Bernardo Távora designed it. It opened in 2004. The building includes a library. It is named after Nuno Portas. There is also a Construction and Technology Laboratory. You can find a museum and galleries here. Auditoriums, a plotter room and a bar are also in the building.
