In 1905, a seed of faith was planted in the heart of Glasgow’s South Side. This seed blossomed into what we know today as Auldhouse Community Church. Auldhouse Community Church has been a beacon of hope and community for over a century. Originally known as Albert Hall, the church has undergone a transformation, both physically and in name. In 1994, it moved to its current location on Netherauldhouse Road and became Netherauldhouse Evangelical Church. The church embraced a new identity again in 2014, becoming Auldhouse Community Church. This name reflects its commitment to serving the entire community. Auldhouse Community Church isn’t just a place of Sunday worship. It’s a vibrant hub, a place where lives are changed and communities are strengthened. Their motto, “Changing Lives – changing communities”, speaks volumes about their dedication. The church’s vision, “You Belong Here,” is more than just a slogan. It’s a promise. Auldhouse Community Church strives to be a “Community of Communities.” They embrace a holistic approach to ministry, focusing on Worship, Learning, Care, and Service. Sharing their faith and resources is a core value. They even operate a “Care and Share” drop-in ministry, providing lunch and food bank resources to those in need. The church’s Lighthouse café, open every Friday morning, offers a warm and welcoming space for the community to connect over coffee and conversation. Led by Pastor Dr. Stuart Blythe and Community Worker Roma Madden, Auldhouse Community Church is grounded in a strong Statement of Faith. This statement emphasizes core Christian beliefs, from the oneness of God to the importance of the Bible. The church’s history is also intertwined with the legacy of Mary Brown, a devoted member for over 50 years. Her generous bequest led to the establishment of the Mary Brown Memorial Trust. This trust supports charities aligned with Christian values, particularly those working with the disadvantaged. Auldhouse Community Church stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith and community. It is a place where history and hope intertwine.
