Ever wonder where champions hone their skills? The Auerbach Center is more than just a practice facility. It is the heart of the Boston Celtics’ pursuit of excellence.

Welcome to the Auerbach Center. This state-of-the-art facility is named after the legendary Celtics coach Red Auerbach. It stands as a testament to his enduring legacy.

In the past, the Celtics practiced in Waltham. That facility was adequate but lacked the modern amenities needed for a top-tier NBA team. The Auerbach Center is a significant upgrade.

Opened in June 2018, the Auerbach Center spans 70,000 square feet. It is part of the larger Boston Landing development. New Balance headquarters and the Bruins’ Warrior Ice Arena are neighbors.

Mayor Marty Walsh noted its importance to the city. He stated that the Celtics would not just win in Boston but also train there.

Inside the Auerbach Center, innovation meets tradition. There are two parquet floor basketball courts. Seating for 195 fans offers a glimpse into the team’s practice sessions.

Players benefit from advanced facilities. These include locker rooms, a players’ lounge, and a media space. Strength and conditioning areas and physical therapy rooms are also available. Hydrotherapy pools aid in recovery.

A sports science laboratory collects performance data. Nutrition facilities and a medical examination room support player health. GE Medical Imaging equipment is on-site for immediate diagnostics.

The Auerbach Center features a unique design element. A 40-foot glass wall faces the Massachusetts Turnpike. Passersby can witness the Celtics in action.

The facility also boasts some unique features. Unlike the previous facility, the Auerbach Center has its own movie theater. This is built for film study. It is equipped with a 98-inch television and comfortable seating.

The locker room is designed for optimal lighting. This is intended to create a positive environment for the players. There are even three pools for injury rehab and relaxation. A float tank with 1,100 pounds of salt offers sensory deprivation therapy.

Players can also utilize a nap room with reclining chairs. A massage room and a barber chair add to the amenities.

The Auerbach Center prioritizes player health. An MRI machine is available on-site. A health food bar and a chef’s kitchen promote proper nutrition.

The Auerbach Center is accessible via public transportation. The Boston Landing station on the Framingham/Worcester Line provides easy access.

The Auerbach Center is a symbol of the Celtics’ commitment to success. It is where dedication, innovation, and tradition converge. The Auerbach Center is a place where the Celtics prepare to make history.
