You see it right there, standing proud on Riverside Drive, the Atonement Lutheran Church. It’s not just a landmark, it’s a story waiting to be told. The first service was in 1961, in a school cafeteria, with 150 people packed in. Can you imagine? That very same group grew to 206 before the church even had its own building! Now, picture this: the church is dedicated, finally, in 1962. But that’s only the beginning. Just a few years later, they start a mission church, one that still thrives today. By the 1980s, this congregation became so big it spilled over into the surrounding community, the church itself becoming a hub for the locals. The building we see today was built later on, in 1988. You can tell it’s a place of deep commitment, with the original members’ stories woven into its very bricks and mortar. Established 82 years ago this is Greater St Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church. It began in Uptown New Orleans with
