Did you ever hear of a church that bridges two worlds? Right here stands Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church. It’s a vibrant community, striving to live out their Christian faith in a rapidly changing world. Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church sits between Buckhead and Bankhead, two very different Atlanta neighborhoods. While its reach extends beyond these areas, its heart remains rooted in the Westside. Founded in 2007, the church strives to be more than just a building. They aim to be active participants in their community, contributing to its social, cultural, and economic well-being. Their goal is to be a beacon of faith and action, a preview of God’s kingdom here on Earth. They live by five core values, neatly summarized by the acronym PEACE: Prize the Heart, Embody Grace, Aim for Restoration, Cultivate Place, and Embrace Limitations. These values guide their interactions, shaping them into a community dedicated to inner transformation and outward service. Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church isn’t just about Sunday service. They believe in the power of community, offering small groups, classes, and opportunities to serve. From helping neighbors to supporting global missions, they encourage everyone to find their place in making a difference. Their senior pastor, Walter Henegar, has led the church since its inception in 2007. He’s not just a pastor, but also a carpenter, former public relations executive, business writer, and mandolin player. He, along with his wife Anne and their two daughters, are integral parts of this unique and dynamic community. Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church is more than just a church. It’s a testament to the power of faith in action, working to bridge communities and bring positive change to the city.
