Construction began in March 1984. Atlanta Plaza wasn’t always Atlanta Plaza. It started as a joint venture between Vantage Properties of Dallas and Travelers Insurance. This impressive skyscraper rose 425 feet. It boasts 34 floors. Smallwood Reynolds Stewart Stewart & Associates designed this Atlanta landmark. It’s tied with 1100 Peachtree as the city’s 25th tallest building. Initially plans included a second tower and a large hotel. These ambitious plans were never realized. Sumitomo Life Realty acquired Atlanta Plaza in 1988. A public pension fund purchased it in 1999. Salesforce.com significantly increased its presence in 2018. They now occupy seven floors earning them naming rights. Other notable tenants include RentPath Rubicon and SAS Institute. The building’s entry underwent renovations beginning August 1 2017. Atlanta Plaza stands as a testament to the city’s growth and evolution. Its history reflects changing ownership and expanding business presence. It’s more than just an office building. It’s a symbol of Atlanta’s dynamic skyline. A visible part of the city’s ever-changing landscape.
