The Athénée Royal Crommelynck stands on Avenue Orban 73 in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. It offers preschool, primary, and secondary general education within the Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement (WBE) network. Originally founded in 1956 as the Athénée Royal de Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, it underwent a significant transformation. In 1994, following the tragic suicide of pianists Patrick and Taeko Crommelynck, the school was renamed. It became the Athénée Royal Crommelynck, honoring not only the two musicians, but their entire family. This family included the renowned playwright and director Fernand Crommelynck. The Crommelynck family’s artistic legacy continues to resonate within the walls of the Athénée Royal Crommelynck. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006, marking a half-century of education and artistic inspiration. Today, the Athénée Royal Crommelynck boasts modern facilities. These include computer labs, a documentation center, a conference hall, a projection room, a gymnasium, and outdoor sports fields. Many classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, emphasizing the integration of technology in education.
