The Assemblies of God’s influence grew. An Assemblies of God Literature Centre opened in Accra. It published the first Dagomba New Testament translation in 1973. The centre also served the entire sub-region. It disseminated Christian literature across borders. A bookshop followed further expanding their reach. A radio ministry called Bible Time began in 1968. It brought the Gospel into homes.
The Assemblies of God also prioritized education. They established Bible schools throughout the country. These schools trained pastors and other church leaders. The first graduates completed their training in 1951. These individuals played a key role in the growth of the church. They helped spread the faith to new areas.
By 1944 the Assemblies of God had established churches in Accra and Kumasi. Takoradi followed soon after. Southern and Northern District Councils were formed. This formalized the organization’s structure. The first official General Council meeting took place in 1964. This marked a significant milestone in the church’s history. In 2019 a new headquarters building opened in Osu Accra. This is called the Great Commission House. It is a testament to the enduring faith and generosity of the Assemblies of God members. This magnificent building houses offices conference rooms and a guest house. It is a symbol of their continued growth and influence. Their commitment to mission and service remains strong.
