Established in 1993 as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology APIIT the university quickly grew. It began offering diploma courses in computing and IT. Soon partnerships blossomed. Monash University in Australia joined the effort. Then Staffordshire University in the UK. These collaborations expanded educational opportunities. They led to the launch of twinning programs for bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
The Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation Faculty of Business & Management didn’t stay put. Expansion was key. A Kuala Lumpur city campus opened in 1997. More campuses followed in Pakistan Sri Lanka and India. By 2004 the institution evolved. It attained university college status becoming the Asia Pacific University College of Technology & Innovation. A short time later it achieved full university status. It officially became the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation APU.
More than 40000 graduates have walked these halls. They carry the legacy of APU with them into the world. Its curriculum developed steadily. It became a SUN and Microsoft authorized training center. It even joined the ranks of SAP University Alliance Partners.
