Established in 1997 the Army Institute of Management Kolkata stands proudly. It began as the National Institute of Management Calcutta. Its mission was clear. To provide quality management education. The institute’s location has changed. It started on Judges Court Road in Alipore. Now it boasts a modern campus in New Town. It sits opposite the Downtown Mall. The R&D campus of IIT Kharagpur is its neighbor.
The Army Institute of Management Kolkata offers a two-year Master of Business Administration program. The intake is capped at 120 students. The program is approved by AICTE. It’s also affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The institute holds prestigious NAAC accreditation. It’s also ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Its annual budget is approximately 5.39 crore Indian rupees. This is about US$620,000 based on 2022-2023 estimates. In 2024 the institute had 15 academic staff members. That year it had 232 postgraduate students.
