Founded in 1960 by St. Agnes Parish, Arlington Catholic High School began with Monsignor Oscar O’Gorman at its helm. The Russell School closed in 1956. Its first and second floors were then integrated into Arlington Catholic High School. History lives within these walls.

The first class graduated from Arlington Catholic High School in 1964. Since then, over 9,000 students have passed through its doors. These alumni have gone on to make significant contributions to the world. Arlington Catholic prepared them well for their futures.

Arlington Catholic High School’s student body is diverse. In 2017, around 650 students attended. These students came from over 47 communities. They even included international students from eight countries. Over 50 churches in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston had members who were students here.

Several notable figures are Arlington Catholic High School alumni. Vicki Movsessian won an Olympic gold medal in women’s hockey in 1998. Julianne Nicholson is an Emmy Award-winning actress known for roles in “Mare of Easttown”. Mark J. Sullivan is a former Director of the United States Secret Service.

Arlington Catholic High School faced challenges too. Allegations of sexual abuse led to lawsuits in recent years. These allegations involved a former vice principal and principal. The school dealt with these issues and took action.

The school boasts small average class sizes. It is great to see the high school students interacting with and mentoring the younger grades.
