“Evangelization,” they called it. The Apostolische Gemeinde Lünen began with this. People from the western Ruhr area moved to Lünen in the mid-1960s. They started spreading their faith. By 1968, the community was growing.

The church’s story is interesting. It was part of the Essen district. It was one of three churches there. The Apostolische Gemeinde Lünen played a significant role in the community.
Construction of this Apostolische Gemeinde Lünen took about a year. Finally, on April 19, 1992, the church was dedicated. It could hold 150 people. The architect R. Büche from Emmerich designed it. He also designed other churches for the community.
But times change. In June 2016, the Apostolische Gemeinschaft stopped holding services here. The building was sold. The Apostolische Gemeinde Lünen no longer serves its original purpose.
