Right here on Bellaire Boulevard, this church pulsates with a spirit of diversity and faith. The Houston Apostolic Church’s journey began in the unlikeliest of places: Chinatown, in 2003. Pastor Israel Kang and his wife started a small Bible study group. They rented a modest classroom, and the group began with just a handful of attendees. Yet, through faith and divine guidance, the group began to grow. More and more people experienced the Holy Spirit. They were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. The small group transformed into a multicultural congregation, reflecting the diverse tapestry of Houston. In 2006, the Houston Apostolic Church held its first official Sunday service. From these humble beginnings, the church has flourished. They have hosted national Chinese Evangelism conferences, drawing hundreds of attendees. The church has witnessed numerous signs, wonders, and miracles. Stories abound of healings, prophecies fulfilled, and spiritual gifts at work. Today, the Houston Apostolic Church embraces a vibrant mix of cultures. Caucasians, African Americans, Hispanics, Filipinos, and Chinese worshippers all find a home within its walls.
