Is that a granite exterior? The Apia Samoa Temple shines brightly under the Samoan sun. This isn’t the first temple to stand on this location. The original Apia Samoa Temple, dedicated in 1983, tragically burned down in 2003 during a renovation project. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The fire, though a terrible loss, allowed for a larger, more modern temple to be built in its place. The new Apia Samoa Temple was dedicated in 2005 by Gordon B. Hinckley, who also dedicated the original temple. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in both Samoa and American Samoa, standing as a beacon of hope and faith, rebuilt from the ashes.
