Craving a good laugh? Then you’re in the right place at the Antik Arche. This isn’t your typical antique store. Though its name might suggest otherwise. The Antik Arche is home to Thuringia’s satirical theater.

Founded in 1979, the cabaret “Die Arche” has been a comedic force. Since the mid-90s, the “Thüringer Satiretheater und Kabarett DIE ARCHE e.V.” has managed the establishment. They offer humorous satire programs. Most are written by their own ensemble. But they also include texts by other authors. Music often accompanies the performances at the Antik Arche.

Harald Richter and Fernando Blumenthal directed the Antik Arche in turns from 2000. Each year, the cabaret presents around 280 performances. They feature two to three new productions. This ensures a constantly changing program of eight to ten pieces. So there is always something new to discover at the Antik Arche.

Thinking of catching a show? The Antik Arche is easily accessible. It’s only 50 meters from a streetcar stop. Parking is also available nearby on Bechtheimer Straße. The Antik Arche accepts cash payment, EC, and invoices.

While the Antik Arche doesn’t offer digital content or allow pets, it does provide other amenities. You’ll find bicycle lockers and toilets available.

Looking for tickets to the Antik Arche? You can purchase them online or by phone. Call 0361 598 29 24. You can also buy tickets at the box office. It is located at Domplatz 18. Or you can try your luck at the door right before the show.

The team at Kabarett “Die Arche” hopes that 2025 will be more peaceful than the last years. Currently, six member states do not have a functional government. But despite the tense world situation, they believe in not losing enthusiasm and humor. That’s why they invite everyone to their new program. It is called “Bei euch piept’s wohl!?” It is a humorous take on the current global situation. Besides that, the Antik Arche offers eight satirical programs. They will make you laugh about the world and yourself.

So, step inside the Antik Arche. Forget your worries. Prepare for an evening of laughter and sharp wit. Here, history meets humor. The Antik Arche is a place where you can reflect on the world. All while being thoroughly entertained.
