Amidst the vibrant energy of Faridabad, stands a beacon of healing and hope: Amrita Hospital. A Liberian woman, Menseh, arrived at Amrita Hospital with her mother, Victoria, in January 2025. Victoria had endured two years of agonizing pain from severe osteoarthritis in her right hip and knee. Amrita Hospital, a multi-super-specialty facility, became their sanctuary. Opened on August 24, 2022, Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, near Delhi, is part of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s vision. It started with 500 beds but is designed to expand to an astounding 2,400 beds, making it India’s largest private hospital. This impressive structure sprawls across 133 acres and boasts a 14-floor tower housing core medical services. Menseh and Victoria experienced the hospital’s compassionate care firsthand. They were warmly welcomed by SAMI representatives, Vikram, Priyanka, and Sagar. These individuals ensured their comfort and provided constant support. On January 11, 2025, Dr. Mrinal Sharma, the Chief Robotic Knee and Hip Replacement Surgeon, along with his skilled team, performed Victoria’s successful surgery. Amrita Hospital is renowned for its 81 specialties and eight centers of excellence, covering areas from oncology and cardiac sciences to transplants and mother-and-child care. This commitment to comprehensive care extends to a cross-subsidy model. This model allows the hospital to offer free and subsidized treatment to those in need, while maintaining affordable rates compared to other large private hospitals in the region. Menseh praised the professionalism of the healthcare providers and the effectiveness of the physiotherapy led by Dr. Karma. Victoria’s journey at Amrita Hospital transformed her life, freeing her from the grip of chronic pain. Menseh’s heartfelt gratitude reflects the hospital’s dedication to providing exceptional healthcare. Amrita Hospital’s future plans include expanding to 750 beds within two years and 1,000 beds within five years. With a projected staff of 10,000, including over 800 doctors, it promises to be a significant force in healthcare. The hospital will also house India’s largest facility for infectious diseases, a vast mother and childcare unit, and a leading pediatric super-specialty center. Its comprehensive transplant program will even include hand transplants, a procedure pioneered by Amrita Hospital in Kochi. This commitment to innovation extends to cutting-edge medical research, with collaborations with leading global institutions. Amrita Hospital in Faridabad stands as a testament to the power of compassion, innovation, and a commitment to serving humanity.
