Did you hear about the Olympic-sized swimming pool near the Amonoo-Neizer Conference Centre? It’s a little-known fact, but it’s just a short stroll away, on the KNUST campus. The Amonoo-Neizer Conference Centre itself is a hub of activity, nestled within the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. This place, also known as the Institute of Distance Learning Conference Centre, isn’t just a building. It’s a stage where important conversations happen. In September 2023, the Amonoo-Neizer Conference Centre hosted the TDM2023: 11th International Travel Demand Management Symposium. This gathering brought together experts from around the globe. Just a few months later, in March 2024, the OWSD Ghana Chapter Conference took place at the Amonoo-Neizer Conference Centre. The theme was “Ghanaian Women Scientists Paving the Way: Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”. Professor Atinuke O. Adebanji, from KNUST’s Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, delivered the keynote address. The Amonoo-Neizer Conference Centre is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a place where ideas are exchanged, collaborations are forged, and the future is shaped.
