The American Centre first opened its doors back in 1949. It has served as a bridge between the United States and Sri Lanka, fostering cultural exchange and understanding. Over the years, the American Centre has moved locations a few times. It first resided on Flower Road, then found a home on Galle Road. And now, look where we stand, in front of its most recent location within the new U.S. Embassy compound! This move, completed in 2022, marked a new chapter, focusing on collaborative learning and digital engagement. The American Centre in Colombo is more than just a place; it’s a hub of activity. They host a wide array of programs, from English language training and entrepreneurship development to coding and even virtual reality experiences.
