In 1999, a major use permit was filed with San Diego County for the development of the church. This permit outlined a three-phase plan. The plan included a Fellowship Hall/Gymnasium, a Pre-School, the Main Sanctuary, and a Ministry/Youth Center. The total planned building area was a substantial 86,416 square feet. The project’s location, on a 10.89-acre site on the north side of Chocolate Summit Drive, just east of Dunbar Lane, offered a peaceful setting for worship and community gatherings. The project also created around 20 jobs, further contributing to the local community. The church’s development involved addressing various project issues, including air quality, cultural resources, geology, soils, noise, public services, and transportation. This careful consideration reflects the church’s commitment to being a responsible member of the Alpine community. Today, Alpine Christian Fellowship Church serves as a hub for spiritual growth and community outreach.
