Did you know Aliante Casino and Hotel wasn’t always a glittering oasis in North Las Vegas? Initially conceived as Aliante Station it was a joint venture. Station Casinos and The Greenspun Corporation partnered in 2005. Their ambitious plan a $400 to $450 million investment. This project grew significantly during construction. Rising costs and redesigned plans ultimately ballooned the budget to $662 million. The Aliante Casino opened its doors in November 2008. It wasn’t an immediate success though. It initially operated at a loss. The following year Station Casinos filed for bankruptcy. Ownership shifted to a holding company. Then profits improved. Station Casinos managed the property until 2012. A rebranding and refurbishment followed costing $2.8 million. The name changed to Aliante Casino and Hotel. In 2016 Boyd Gaming acquired the hotel-casino for $380 million. Today this North Las Vegas landmark boasts 211 rooms and 125000 square feet of gaming space. The Aliante Casino stands as a testament to resilience and reinvention. It’s a shining example of how a project can overcome initial setbacks to become a thriving success.
