Ali İpek Camii

Amidst the bustling cityscape of Ankara, discover the Ali İpek Camii. This mosque isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a testament to a father’s legacy, built by Melek İpek in honor of her late husband, Ali İpek, the founder of Koza Davetiye. Ali İpek Camii opened its doors in Etimesgut with a grand ceremony, attended by prominent figures like the Speaker of the Parliament, Cemil Çiçek, and the President of Religious Affairs, Mehmet Görmez. Melek İpek expressed her joy at the mosque’s completion. She emphasized its capacity to accommodate 1200 worshippers, along with a Quran course and lodging facilities. She gratefully acknowledged the support of her children, saying, “I thank God for giving me this opportunity. I thank my children for supporting me in every way.” Mehmet Görmez highlighted the mosque’s role as a place where hearts unite. He reminded the congregation that mosques are built by those who fear only God, and those who haven’t built their hearts cannot build mosques. He thanked Melek İpek for her good deeds and offered prayers for Ali İpek’s soul. Following the inauguration, Friday prayers were held, led by Görmez, who shared hadiths about mosque construction. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of the Quran and refreshments. The Ali İpek Camii stands as a symbol of love, faith, and community in the heart of Ankara.
