Ready to witness Berlin’s evolving skyline? Right before us rises the Alexander Tower. It’s a symbol of modern Berlin. This tower represents the city’s constant reinvention.

The Alexander Tower stands near the Alexa department store. The foundation stone was laid in September 2021. The MonArch Group from Moscow is behind this residential tower project. It reaches 150 meters high with 35 floors.

Originally, the Alexander Tower completion was set for 2023. International sanctions have affected the investor.

Inside the Alexander Tower, there are plans for 377 apartments and penthouses. The base will host retail spaces, a gym, and a spa with a swimming pool. Even a cinema is planned. A sky lounge will crown the tower.

O & O Baukunst from Vienna designed the architecture. They envisioned a modern, livable space.

The Alexander Tower is part of the Alexanderplatz revamp. Hans Kollhoff won the urban planning competition in 1993. His idea was to build a dozen high-rises around the square. The Alexander Tower contributes to this vision. It becomes one of the first high-rises on the square.

PORR Design & Engineering Deutschland GmbH contributed to the project. They were responsible for general design and planning. This included architecture, technical building services, and sustainability. LEED certification for the building was part of the planning process.

The facade’s design reflects the building’s structure. The stone grid changes from base to attic. Massive frame components join the grid. This creates transparency.

The first seven floors match Berlin’s existing block structure. Upper floors grow outward. This creates office space and a roof terrace. The terrace offers green outdoor space.

The Alexander Tower combines residential, commercial, and office spaces. This echoes the socialistic “Plattenbau” architecture.

The tower stands on the corner of Grunerstraße and Alexanderstraße. It has a gross floor space of 42,000 square meters. The first three floors are dedicated to a shopping center. Floors four and five feature a fitness area. Offices occupy floors up to the 24th floor. The top twelve floors house freehold flats.

Access to the Alexander Tower is through central entrances and lobbies. These face Alexanderstraße.

The Alexander Tower is more than a building. It signifies Berlin’s ambition and architectural evolution. As Alexanderplatz transforms, the Alexander Tower points to the future. It stands as a testament to Berlin’s dynamic spirit.
