This reflects the traditional values of Anatolian people. Alacaatl ı is located 20 km from Ankara’s city center and 21 km from the Çankaya district center. The area features remnants of ancient oak forests. These meşelikler are cherished by the locals. Some remarkably large Tüylü Meşe (Quercus pubescens) trees stand tall. These trees are a testament to the community’s conservation efforts. They are also valuable seed sources for future generations of oaks. Sadly, these natural treasures are under threat from construction and quarrying. There is a hope that these oak forests could be protected and developed into natural parks. These would provide much-needed green spaces for the expanding urban area. The population of Alacaatl ı has seen remarkable growth. It increased from 3,068 in 2007 to an estimated 43,949 in 2023.
