Once upon a time, Air Marshal M. S. Chaturvedi faced a problem. He was trying to admit his children to a school in New Delhi.

Air Force Bal Bharati School started as a primary school. It had only 116 pupils and six staff members. The school was in war time barracks. By 1974, it had become a senior secondary school. Over 3300 pupils received education here. Today, Air Force Bal Bharati School functions under the Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society. It is a recognised, unaided private school.
