“Admannshagen? Never heard of it.” That’s what many say. But Admannshagen has a story. It is a story of villages merging. A story connected to a powerful monastery.

Admannshagen-Bargeshagen is a municipality. It lies in the Rostock district. This is in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is a place where history and community intertwine.

Back in time, Admannshagen was just a small village. So was Bargeshagen. Steinbeck and Rabenhorst too. These villages have their own stories. Yet their paths were destined to merge.

The story of Admannshagen is closely linked to the Doberan Monastery. In the past, Admannshagen had to pay dues to the monastery. This shows the monastery’s influence. The first mention of Steinbeck was in 1273. Rabenhorst followed in the same year. Bargeshagen was mentioned in 1286. Admannshagen was mentioned in 1302.

In 1843, near Admannshagen, someone found the Wendish Crown. It was in an urn. This was inside a low burial mound. The crown wasn’t bronze. It was copper. It was broken.

In 1962, Admannshagen and Bargeshagen joined together. This formed the municipality. Today it is known as Admannshagen-Bargeshagen.

After 1990, things changed. The area became popular. People wanted to live near Rostock and the Baltic Sea. Admannshagen-Bargeshagen grew. The population tripled.

The municipality has its own coat of arms and flag. They were approved in June 2023. The coat of arms features a green gable. It represents a Low German barn. There is a green linden branch at the bottom. The flag is green. It displays the municipal coat of arms.

Admannshagen-Bargeshagen has some interesting sights. There are thatched Hall houses in Admannshagen. You can also see timber-framed barns. In Bargeshagen, thatched barns and Hall houses are also visible. Also there is the Bargeshagen Manor House.

Bargeshagen has a large commercial area. It developed after 1990. This area is full of wholesale businesses. There are also service providers, construction companies.

Admannshagen-Bargeshagen is close to the B105 federal highway. It is near Rostock and Bad Doberan. This provides good road and rail links. The B103 federal highway runs east of the municipality. It connects to the A20 motorway.

Admannshagen-Bargeshagen may seem like a small place. But it has a rich history. Its story is one of growth. It is a story of community. It is a story of change. Admannshagen-Bargeshagen continues to evolve. It embraces its past. Admannshagen welcomes the future.
