In 1940s Rwanda, a seed of faith was planted. Swedish missionaries, Alvar Lindskog and his wife Lindberg, arrived in the Gihundwe Region. They began sharing the Gospel, their Swahili words translated for the local Rwandans. This marked the humble beginnings of what would become ADEPR Kabeza. ADEPR Kabeza is more than just a building. It represents a community transformed by faith. Officially recognized as the Association of Pentecostal Churches in Rwanda (ADEPR) in 1983, the church’s roots lie in these early missionary efforts. The first convert, Ludoviko Sagatwa, was baptized in 1943, a pivotal moment for the church’s growth. ADEPR Kabeza, along with over three thousand other local ADEPR churches, now plays a vital role in Rwanda. The church is not confined to spiritual guidance. It actively participates in community development, focusing on education, healthcare, and poverty reduction. ADEPR Kabeza reflects the church’s commitment to holistic transformation, aligning with its six pillars of ministry. These pillars encompass evangelism, education, economic and social development, finance, auditing and law enforcement, and ethics. From its humble beginnings with a single convert, ADEPR Kabeza stands as a testament to the power of faith and community. It’s a place where spiritual growth intertwines with social action, impacting lives across Rwanda.
