Hidden within the vibrant tapestry of Accra, the Achimota Retail Centre isn’t just a shopping mall. It’s a testament to modern Ghana, a fusion of commerce and community. The Achimota Retail Centre opened its doors in October 2015. It was a momentous occasion, marked by funfair and celebration. This $60 million project, a brainchild of Delico Achimota Limited, transformed a 35,790 square meter plot into a bustling hub. The Achimota Retail Centre boasts a 14,622 square meter trading space. This space houses over 45 shops, offering everything from groceries at Shoprite to fashion finds at Palace. The Achimota Retail Centre prides itself on its diverse tenant mix. Almost half of the brands are Ghanaian, showcasing local talent and entrepreneurship. Imagine strolling through the mall, the aroma of spices from the Chop Bar mingling with the sweet scent of pastries from Second Cup. From KFC to Basillisa, nine eateries offer a culinary journey for every palate. After a satisfying meal, perhaps a bit of window shopping? Mr Price, CompuGhana, MTN, and Nallem Clothing are just a few of the many options available. The Achimota Retail Centre is designed with convenience in mind. A spacious parking area, including a 250-car underground basement, ensures a hassle-free visit. The mall also created jobs. During construction, it employed around 1,000 local workers. Now, it provides permanent positions for at least 50 people in facilities management, with tenants employing another 500, primarily from the surrounding communities. The Achimota Retail Centre has become more than just a mall. It’s a vibrant part of the community, a place where business thrives, and social connections flourish. It is a symbol of progress and a testament to the vision of its creators.
