November 2003 marked its start. Twelve girls and eight teachers were there at the start. The school was housed in renovated facilities. These facilities belonged to Rev Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist Church in Kaneshie.

Initially, facilities were modest. Three classrooms served as accommodation. There were administration offices and a staff common room. Accra Wesley Girls’ Senior High School started with three programs. These were General Arts, Business, and Visual Arts. Visual Arts was later dropped due to limited space.

A significant change occurred in the 2010/2011 academic year. The Ghana Education Service absorbed the school. It became a Public/Mission Institution. This transition marked a new chapter for Accra Wesley Girls’ Senior High School.

The school’s mission is clear. It aims to provide appropriate activities. Students can unearth and develop their potentials. This enables them to excel in all spheres of life. Accra Wesley Girls’ Senior High School strives for holistic formation.
