Abundant Life Christian Church

Journey with me back to 1976, to the vibrant heart of San Antonio’s Denver Heights neighborhood. Here, at the corner of Denver and St. Anthony, Pastor Neftalí Ozuna planted the seed that would blossom into the Abundant Life Christian Church. This wasn’t just another church. It was a beacon of hope, a testament to the unwavering faith of a community. Under the guidance of Pastor Manuel De La Garza and his wife Paula, the Abundant Life Christian Church flourished for two decades, filling its sanctuary to capacity with every service. Their leadership laid the groundwork for something extraordinary. In 1998, a new chapter began. Pastors Eliezer and Dorcas Bonilla, along with their three children, arrived at Abundant Life Christian Church, ready to embrace a new vision. The year 2000 marked a significant turning point. Abundant Life Christian Church moved to its current location in southeast San Antonio. This relocation ignited a period of remarkable growth and transformation. Through the power of cell groups and a strong emphasis on discipleship, the church evolved from ordinary to extraordinary. Abundant Life Christian Church’s commitment to winning souls and making disciples fueled its expansion. The church’s reach extended throughout the city with approximately 300 cell groups spreading the Gospel. New believers embarked on a journey of intentional discipleship, experiencing the transformative power of God’s presence. The church’s growth has been nothing short of remarkable. From a congregation of around 200, Abundant Life Christian Church now boasts a vibrant community of 1,800 members, with multiple services held in two locations: Abundant Life South and Abundant Life North. Even beyond San Antonio, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, a new ministry sprouted from Abundant Life Christian Church, now thriving with its own building and around 150 members. Abundant Life Christian Church embraces the diversity of its community, offering services in English, Spanish, and bilingual formats. It has also extended its hand to those in need through Compassion San Antonio, providing weekly food and clothing assistance to 300 families. Today, Abundant Life Christian Church stands as a testament to the power of faith, community, and unwavering dedication to serving others. It continues to grow and evolve, reaching new heights and impacting lives across San Antonio and beyond.
