Initially, Dr. Gabriel R. Mason led Abraham Lincoln High School. He was the principal for 25 years starting in 1930. In 1983, Dr. Jack Pollock reported high college attendance among graduates. Eight out of ten attended college or university.
Abraham Lincoln High School faced challenges in later years. By 2009, the graduation rate was 58%. SAT scores were below the New York State averages.
However Abraham Lincoln High School provides numerous extracurriculars. Students can join the Acting Club, Debate Team and Key Club. The school newspaper is called the Lincoln Log.
