Did you know this neighborhood takes its name from a man who loved fresh air? Abidinpaşa Mahallesi is named after Abidin Pasha, an Ottoman administrator in Ankara around the mid-1800s. He desired a home with plenty of fresh air. He chose this spot, atop one of Ankara’s highest hills, for his mansion. Today, Abidinpaşa Mahallesi is a bustling neighborhood. The mansion still stands and is a popular spot for tourists. The area around it is now a public park. Abidin Pasha’s love for fresh air created a lasting legacy for Abidinpaşa Mahallesi.
