70 Vestry extends Tribeca’s admired architectural character to the Hudson River. Beaumaniere limestone clads the building. It was selected for its subtle patterning and warm pink glow. Expansive windows open the residences to 360-degree views. Metalwork and pilasters define multi-story fenestration patterns. They break down the facades into bays. These recall the scale of Tribeca’s treasured cast-iron structures. They also reflect the machine-age interpretation of Renaissance Revival forms.
70 Vestry draws inspiration from distinguished early 20th-century apartment houses. A private driveway leads to a mid-block motor court. A light-flooded double-height lobby welcomes residents. A suite of amenity spaces fills out the ground floor. These include a children’s playroom and a lounge for parties. A skylit pool and health facilities are below the motor court. The motor court also provides access to the building’s automated parking system.
Above the seventh floor, 70 Vestry sets back. This provides ample terraces for upper-floor apartments. Most apartments benefit from two exposures. Corner locations or floor-through plans maximize views. Two duplex penthouses offer sprawling rooftop sundecks. Residences range from approximately 1,900 to over 7,000 square feet. 70 Vestry has been home to celebrities. NFL quarterback Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen bought an apartment here. British Formula One race-car driver Lewis Hamilton also purchased a unit. The building is featured in the Netflix reality series My Unorthodox Life.
