In 2024, 48th & Woodland Playground underwent a significant transformation. The old spray park was revitalized with brand-new water play equipment. This wasn’t just a cosmetic upgrade. The new equipment was designed with a “playful learning” theme. Imagine children not just splashing around, but also engaging with elements that stimulate their curiosity and learning. The $700,000 investment by the City, along with contributions from Councilmember Jamie Gauthier and the William Penn Foundation, made this possible. The community played a vital role in this transformation. Residents actively participated in meetings, offering their insights and preferences for the redesign.
