Over the years 41 Pally has organized numerous festivals. Durga Puja Kali Puja Jagadhatri Puja Saraswati Puja and Laxmi Puja are celebrated with fervor. They even host Holi celebrations. Beyond the festivities 41 Pally engages in vital social work. Blood donation camps free health check-up camps and free eye check-up camps are regularly held. They partnered with Helpage India and various hospitals.
41 Pally boasts a well-equipped library. This library is a treasure trove of knowledge. It offers insights into rich traditions literature science technology and sports. This community center is the first in its locality to establish a drama group. They organize a Theatre Utsav an annual theatre festival that attracts groups from across West Bengal.
Their dedication extends to environmental initiatives. 41 Pally actively organizes anti-drug campaigns and plantation programs. They also celebrate World Environment Day. During crises like malaria dengue and Covid-19 outbreaks 41 Pally played a crucial role. They contributed to the Chief Minister’s relief fund and provided essential resources such as oxygen cylinders thermal guns and oxygen concentrators.
The community operates its own ambulance service. This service caters to the poor and needy. Important national days are observed with respect and dignity. 41 Pally also supports the Samparc Kolkata Shishu Kendra orphanage. They provide educational materials clothing sports equipment and food to approximately 135 orphaned children.
The Durga Puja celebration is a highlight. Started in 1957 it’s a spectacle. The 67th year is a testament to its enduring popularity. Since 1998 the Puja has been theme-based. It’s received numerous awards including the Asian Paints Shrestha Sharad Samman. The Puja is lauded by various institutions NGOs multinational companies news channels and government bodies. Over 450 awards since 2010 showcase its significance. It’s considered among Kolkata’s top five Durga Pujas.
This year the Honorable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the event. Major media outlets will cover the preparations and festivities. The Durga Puja attracts a massive crowd estimated at 30-35 lakh visitors based on Kolkata Police records. 41 Pally is also eagerly awaiting participation in the Red Road Carnival.
