Originally known as the Trust Company of Georgia Building, 25 Park Place has witnessed Atlanta’s transformation firsthand. This towering skyscraper, all 28 stories of it, wasn’t always home to Georgia State University. Picture this: the year is 1971. 25 Park Place stands tall, a symbol of Atlanta’s ambition, housing the Trust Company of Georgia. Fast forward to 1985, and the building takes on a new identity as the SunTrust Bank Building, following a merger. It wasn’t until 2007 that Georgia State University acquired 25 Park Place, adding a new chapter to the building’s story. Today, 25 Park Place is a hive of academic energy, home to many departments within the College of Arts and Sciences. It even houses the University Advisement Center, a beacon for students navigating their academic journeys. And there you have it, the tale of 25 Park Place: from banking hub to academic cornerstone, a silent observer of Atlanta’s ever-evolving skyline.
