The \ud48d\ub3d9\uc131\ub2f9’s journey began humbly. It was established on August 31 2006. IlSan Catholic Church was its spiritual home. Much of its early support came from Ilsan. People from Baeksok-dong and Madu-dong also contributed. This makes IlSan Catholic Church the main supporter.
Initially, the church started in Siksa-dong. This was near Goyang University. The specific address was Siksa-dong 514-22. Preparations led to its first mass on September 17. The church then oversaw Pungdong, Sanhwang-dong and Siksa-dong.
However, traffic and noise became problematic in Siksa-dong. After half a year, it temporarily moved. In 2007, the \ud48d\ub3d9\uc131\ub2f9 relocated near Haedeul Village. This new location was at Pungdong 226-16. The Parish Council was formed in November 2007. This marked the official beginning of the \ud48d\ub3d9\uc131\ub2f9’s history.
In 2009, fundraising started for a new church site. Preparations for construction began. By May 2011, the church finalized construction plans. A new church was built on October 28 2011. The congregation moved in December. The first mass in the new church occurred on December 24 2011. The new church was consecrated on June 22 2013.
A significant change happened in 2010. The Siksa-dong area became the Siksa-dong Catholic Church. This made Pungdong Catholic Church responsible for that area.
In 2016, the \ud48d\ub3d9\uc131\ub2f9 created a new CI. The selected CI became the church’s official symbol. Before this, a cross was used in photos.

Before 2010, Siksa-dong was part of the \ud48d\ub3d9\uc131\ub2f9’s area. This was before the establishment of Siksa-dong Catholic Church.
