“Return to the early church.” That was the motto that led to the formation of a new Presbyterian community. Today we stand before \uc8fc\uc608\uc218\uc7a5\ub85c\uad50\ud68c in Seoul.
\uc8fc\uc608\uc218\uc7a5\ub85c\uad50\ud68c’s story starts with a division within the Presbyterian Church of Korea. Later pastors from Presbyterian Church in Korea (TongHap) and HapDong came together. Their shared goal was to revive the spirit of the early church. They also wanted to promote a unified Gospel message.
In 1981 after a prayer meeting, they established the JungRip church. From this, some members later created the PyungYang seminary. It was later renamed the Seoul Westminster Seminary. The church emphasizes the Bible’s verbal inspiration. It adheres to the Apostles Creed and Westminster Confession.
By 2004, the denomination included 75007 members. There were 451 congregations and 454 ordained ministers. The denomination was organized into 13 Presbyteries and a General Assembly. \uc8fc\uc608\uc218\uc7a5\ub85c\uad50\ud68c is part of a living history. It reflects a desire to return to fundamental Christian values.
