Perhaps you’re seeking spiritual solace? Open Doors Metropolitan Community Church or ODMCC might be just the place. This church welcomes everyone. It doesn’t matter your ethnicity or sexual orientation. Your status or gender identity is also not important. Even your church affiliation doesn’t matter.
ODMCC started in 2011. Daniel Payne led a small group of members. In 2014, Craig Bartlett became a co-pastor. Payne now studies for vocational ministry. The church unites LGBTQ people and allies. It provides a safe space. Members meet here. They worship and study together. They socialize openly in an uplifting environment.
English is the usual language for services. Korean speakers are also welcome. Translations are often provided. Weekly services happen on Sunday mornings at 11 am. They take place in Haebangchon. After services, members often have lunch. They sometimes get coffee at a local restaurant.
In the past, ODMCC met in different places. These included pubs and nightclubs. They even met in aromatherapy centers. ODMCC is now at Camarata Music Studio. The studio is near Itaewon. To get there from Noksapyeong Station Exit 2, walk straight. Go 100 meters. Then, veer left into Haebangchon. Walk straight for a few minutes. Jacoby’s Burger is across the street from the studio. The studio is on your left.
