It’s a testament to resilience, growth, and community. Shinchon Presbyterian Church began its life in October 1948. It was a humble structure at 3-288 Daegu-myeon, Gwangju-gun. Imagine, just after the Korean War, in November 1953, this small church expanded its sanctuary to accommodate a growing congregation of 50 members. The church continued to flourish. By 1955, the sanctuary was again expanded to hold 70. Then, in 1961, the church moved to its current location in Shinchon and became known as Shinchon Presbyterian Church. Today, Shinchon Presbyterian Church stands as a beacon of faith. It offers four distinct services, including national, international, senior, and youth ministries. The church also houses a counseling center, providing support and guidance to the community. It is a place where people can find solace, strength, and a sense of belonging.
