How about we step into a place of spiritual renewal? I am excited to share the story of \uc131 \uc575\ubca0\ub974 \uc13c\ud130 with you. This center is in Seoul’s Eunpyeong-gu district. It is a place for Catholics to deepen their faith.
\uc131 \uc575\ubca0\ub974 \uc13c\ud130 opened its doors on December 18. The date was significant. It marked 200 years since Bishop Saint \uc575\ubca0\ub974 received sacred items.
Envision a large space. \uc131 \uc575\ubca0\ub974 \uc13c\ud130 spans 8866.95 square meters. It has three underground and four above-ground floors. Inside, you will discover a chapel, lecture rooms, meeting spaces, and quiet retreats. There are also dining areas.
\uc131 \uc575\ubca0\ub974 \uc13c\ud130 offers lodging. It has 51 rooms. These rooms can accommodate 123 people. The meeting rooms are named after biblical figures. You will find rooms dedicated to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Others honor Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. The center’s names also pay tribute to archangels. These include Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael.
The center’s location also holds meaning. Eunpyeong-gu inspires the names of some spaces. There is an “Eun” lecture room and a “Pyeong” lecture room. You can also find “Eun” dining and “Pyeong” dining areas.
On the fourth floor, there is a wooden chapel that seats 200. Imagine standing on the rooftop garden. From there, you can see Bukhansan Mountain. It is a place to connect with faith and education.
During the dedication, Archbishop Yeom Soo-jung spoke. He hoped \uc131 \uc575\ubca0\ub974 \uc13c\ud130 would deepen faith. He wanted it to be a place of rest within God’s grace. He also hoped it would help people live as children of God.
Architect Hwang Won-wook was honored at the dedication. He designed and oversaw the construction. Representatives from construction company Kolon also received thanks.
