In 1959 they formally established the church. It was named Seungsan Church at the time. A dedication service was held in a rented space.
The church continued to grow. In 1962 construction began on their own building. It was eighty pyeong that is about 2856 square feet. The construction was completed in the fall of 1964.
An important milestone was reached in 1965. The church received approval from the Presbytery. Its name changed to Seongmoon Church.
Over the years Seongmoon Church has focused on several key missions. These include healing families and glorifying God. It also includes accomplishing the Great Commission and training disciples. The church also equips the next generation.
Seongmoon Church emphasizes community restoration. It wants families to experience healing and recovery through faith. The church strives to glorify God through worship. It also wants its members to experience a living worship.
