Here stands Seoul Songpa Elementary School. Founded on October 21, 1985, it has been a cornerstone of education in Songpa-dong. The school’s establishment was approved on July 10 of the same year.

Let’s talk about symbols. The school’s flower is the Mokryeon. It symbolizes a noble love and elegance. It represents the pride of Songpa children who love and cooperate with each other. The school tree is the pine. It embodies a firm will and inner strength. It represents the great character of Koreans and their resilient life force.
In 2010, many improvements were made. April 1 saw the completion of the gymnasium and exterior paving. October 27 brought the installation of a combined playground facility. The library was remodeled and reopened on November 23. In 2011, a learning preparation room was set up.
More recent additions include a school safety fence. It was completed in 2013. In 2017, a school road separation barrier was installed at the back gate. Also in 2017, a school flat education room was established. The landscaping of the faculty building was improved that same year. An elevator for the disabled was completed in 2018. The broadcasting room was modernized.
Seoul Songpa Elementary School continues to evolve. It adapts to meet the needs of its students. The school held its 33rd graduation ceremony in 2019. 127 students graduated. In January 2020, the main building’s restroom was renovated. It was called the “dream restroom”. The 34th graduation ceremony was held in February 2020. 117 students graduated. A kindergarten was completed that same month. Principal Lee Kang-mi took office in September 2020. He became the 13th principal.
