High up on the hill we are now standing the Seoul Myogok Elementary School. It is more than just a place of learning. It is a vibrant hub of growth and dreams.

Seoul Myogok Elementary School first opened its doors on October 23 1985. It was initially known as Seoul Myogok National School. This marked the beginning of its journey in education. In 1996 the school changed its name to Seoul Myogok Elementary School.

The school’s symbols carry deep meaning. The school flower is the azalea. It embodies resilience and spirit. The azalea represents the strong will to overcome challenges. The school tree is the Zelkova tree. It symbolizes the potential for greatness. Its upright form signifies harmony and order.

The school also has unique characters called Mibeullin and Mibeulrang. Mibeullin represents the girls of Myogok. Mibeulrang represents the boys. These characters embody the qualities that the school promotes. This includes diligence and integrity. They reflect the students’ commitment to growth.

Over the years Seoul Myogok Elementary School has expanded. A dining hall was added in February 1995. A multimedia room opened in June 2006. This provides students with modern resources. In September 2006 the school added a care room. The library was renovated at the same time.

The Dream Maru gymnasium opened in October 2010. This gave students more space for physical activities. In February 2017 the headmaster’s office was renovated. The school building was extended in October 2018. The library was renovated in August 2019. Various construction projects improved the school’s facilities. These included a through school road and parking lot.

The Wee Class was established in October 2019. This supports student well-being. As of May 1 2023 the school had 1452 students and 95 staff members.
